In the second quarter of this semester, the students have been provided with a deeper understanding of the fundamental principles and practices of international business. The course has explored topics such as globalisation, cross-border trade and the dynamics of multinational corporations. To illustrate these concepts, real-world examples were incorporated into discussions, including the global operations of Toyota, a leader in automotive manufacturing, and its strategic decisions to localise production and adapt to diverse markets.
Additionally, the upcoming Osaka EXPO 2025 was introduced as a case study to highlight the role of international trade fairs in promoting cultural exchange, highlighting technological innovation, and fostering global partnerships. The EXPO serves as a platform of international business, where nations and companies collaborate to address global challenges while simultaneously competing to demonstrate their expertise and attract investment.
