This class has entered its final stage. The final subject is Russia’s invasion into Ukraine. Why did Russia invade Ukraine? The causes can be traced back to the 9th century. In other words, for more than ten centuries there has been some kind of conflict between the two countries. In February 2022, a major clash took place. If you ask my students why Russia invaded Ukraine, they will give you a clear answer as to why and how. Then in the last class they had an essay test. There were two questions: the first question is to ‘Describe how the United States became a hegemonic power from its founding to the present day’. The second question is ‘Based on the historical relationship between Russia and Ukraine, explain the current Ukrainian and Russian problem and the impact of this conflict on international relations’
