In my class, I have taught the basics of the structure of the English language. The main question is as follows: What is English Linguistics? The aim of my class is to give the students some feelings for what interests a wide variety of English Linguistics and for the nature of the English language:
- How to understand the meaning of English Sentences (A Study of the Meaning)
- How to understand the implication in English sentences (A Study of the Pragmatics)
- How to understand the differences about “social class” and “gender” in our society (A Study of Sociolinguistics)
- and others.
