In January, the students are practicing teaching English to young children in the primary classrooms. Young learners do not come to the language classroom empty-handed. They bring with them an already well-established set of instincts, skills and characteristics which will help them to learn another language. The students are trying to identify those and make the most of them in the context of English language teaching/learning. They use fun game activities, songs and chants, dances, and numerous picture books to let young learners experience and experiment the target language they learn. One of the most successful approaches they use is TPR (Total Physical Response).
