In June classes, we focus on both WHAT we teach and HOW we teach. As the first step, students are encouraged to define what makes good teachers based on their theoretical and empirical studies. Here are some of the ideas/beliefs of a good teacher defined by the current students.
Good teachers:
- Connect with students and see the world from their point of view.
- Provide opportunities for language use and development.
- Motivate by creating opportunities for success.
- Organize and maintain an optimum learning environment.
- Inspire students to reach their full potential.
Also, students keep themselves busy in improving language proficiency as well as acquiring practical teaching techniques. They started to learn the practice of “By teaching, we are learning.”
