In November, we had an opportunity to listen to a lecture by a guest, who has a wealth of experience in the fields of international development and cooperation. His life history provided us with many implications as to how we select our courses of life and profession. His approach to international cooperation is to find a key person in the hosting side, and support that person as much as possible, instead of himself as the advising side doing projects. We learned that this approach appeared to be highly consistent with the idea of participatory development.
