Theory of International Development & Aid 4

This new course considers issues and goals of development with particular reference to the natural environment. In the early weeks of the semester, we had a brainstorming session to write out as many keywords as possible, that would address the environment-development linkages. Then, each student selected their topic of in-depth study in May. Through multiple presentations during the semester and research papers, we are discussing together to learn the problems, causal mechanisms and countermeasures about the selected topics. The course follows the potluck style, in which all participants bring pieces of knowledge and ideas to the classroom.
